SITUATION:
Clos de Vaul Creux is centrally situated on the unique island of Sark. Sark is a virtually tax-free island located 9 miles east of Guernsey offering residents a safe, high quality of life whilst being self- governing and efficient. It is relatively unspoilt with a tranquil beauty and yet able to offer all the benefits of modern communications and technology. The island is 3 miles long by 1 ˝ miles wide with approximately 600 residents and no motor cars. The island is accessible by regular ferries from Guernsey, Jersey and France in the summer months and daily from Guernsey in the winter months.

SARK:
Sark is an extremely picturesque island that is self-governing through the ‘Chief Pleas’ and is presided over by the ‘Seigneur’. Transport on Sark is restricted to the horse and carriage, the bicycle and ‘shanks pony’. Tractors are, however, allowed by licence for general farm work, carting of goods from the harbour, and personal transport by arrangement. Everyday shopping facilities are available on Sark together with some excellent hotels, restaurants and public houses.

TAXATION:
Sark does not levy any income tax, property gains tax or inheritance tax on its residents. Other local taxes are very moderate.
